Remove export options

I only want to provide my report users the ability to output to PDF. I tried setting toolbar=False and adding my own rendering hyperlink to PDF on my web page, but when I set toolbar to false I do not get a horizontal scrollbar for a wide report so I had to turn toolbar=true back on.
Is there a way to not provide any Export options except PDF in the standard Export drop-down?See previous post on this question:

Remote Timeout Option setting

Hey All,
Very simple one...how do I simply change the default from 20 seconds to 60 in the sp_config table...
Thanks,
DJLook up sp_configure in Books Online and you will be well on your way to answering your question.|||The bible? Read it. i'll go back and look. Is it as easy as this?

sp_configure 'show advanced options', 1;
GO
RECONFIGURE;
GO
sp_configure 'remote login timeout', 60;
GO
RECONFIGURE;
GO

Remote server setting -- Urgent

I have a sql2k clustered server. now this server need remote server connection to other server. I have set up remote server on both site, but only one way works: connection to clustered server is ok while from clustered server I can not get the remote sit
e. error msg:
Server: Msg 17, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
I am sure network access to 1433 port on both virtual server IP and remote server IP is OK Do I still need to open 1433 port on each node of clustered server to remote server?
Pls help.
Thanks
George
If the remote server is in another forest/domain you may need a two-way trust between the domains. What forest + domain functionality level are they both running? (eg W2K mixed, W2K native, W2K3 native etc). Can you browse the Active Directory objects i
n the remote site (from both directions) using dsa.msc? If you can you don't have a trust problem. If the trusts are okay (or both servers are in the same domain) then you can add the SQL Server service account from one server to the local admins group
of the other (just as a test!). If this fails then you know you have bigger problems on your WAN than just SQL Server and permissions.
|||Thanks Stephen. But I can not see active directory; and the remote server is in a workgroup, not a domain.
pls advise, thanks a lot
George

Remote Server into a named Instance of SQL Server 2005

We are setting up a database server with 2 instances of SQL Server 2005. One for the default and another for Reporting Service. I have them installed but when I try to a registration from another Server for the Reporting Service Instance I can not get in. I am using the sa userid and password, the same one that works when I am on the server but I get an error that says Remote Server connections may not be allowed. When I go to properties the Allow remote connections box is checked. Anyone know what else I need to do to get to the named instance?If you have another instance on the server it probably uses not the default port. If you have chosen another port than the default 1433 for the named instance, you should either start SQL Browser (which will handle request and will forward to the appropiate port on the server) or you directly name it within your connecting application by using the following syntax:

Servername\InstanceName,portnumber.

Remote Connections

Hi,

I'm having problems setting up remote connections in SQL Server 2005 Dev. I can't see what I've done wrong maybe some else can. I'm trying to connect to the database through a .NET 2005 application which uses table adapters, the software works fine when using trusted connections.

I've turned on TCP/IP remote connections and I restarted the SQL Server instance. I've added a SQL login user account and SQL authentication is on. I've given this account access to the server and database and granted CONNET, SELECT, UPDATE, etc access rights, I've even made them admin and owner etc and I've opened the default ports in the firewall.

I'm using a connection string in this format

"Data Source=190.190.200.100,1433;Network Library=DBMSSOCN;Initial Catalog=pubs;User ID=sa;Password=fgdgfdgs;"

Every time I connect the error message says the targed machine actively refused the connection.

Anyone got an idea or a checklist of how to set up remotre connections ?

Thanks

I've got it to work!!

The connection string needed the SQL Instance, doh! Learned a lesson there but that's a result.

However I cannot specify a port and have to use the default. I've tried...

Data Source=190.190.200.100,1433\SQLInstance

Data Source=190.190.200.100\SQLInstance,1433

and neither are working, not a problem but any idea.

Remote connection setup

Hi, new to remote SQL Connections. Hoping someone can help with a definitive tutorial for setting up remote connections in SQL2005. I have a SQLExpress installation at our office behind an ADSL router. I want to connect with SQL Server Management Studio from my home PC, which is also behind an ADSL router. What settings do I have to alter, both loal amd remote.

regards
OK fixed it myself. Nothing like trial and error to overcome a problem :)
